Globe-riding rolls out Ladbrokes bingo TV ad

August 29, 2008

Zorb riding is a high adrenalin sport that has caused Zorb mania to hit the streets of Liverpool as the new Ladbrokes bingo TV ad is filmed. The major TV advertising shoot for Ladbrokes has seen the streets of Liverpool, featuring residential terraced houses and the Liver Building, filled with giant multi coloured bingo balls. These are giant transparent spheres with people inside them, called “zorbs” (the balls, not the people).

The advertisement which has more than a ₤3 million budget, saw parts of Lark Lane being closed off for the giant spheres to run through the streets. This spectacle which is totally action packed, together with 180 extras, sees the atypical bingo representations of two fat ladies, legs eleven and two little ducks being depicted.

The Ladbrokes acquisition marketing manager, Charlie Goodenough, says that this has been a very exciting project for the company. They are completely delighted to have brought bingo in such a big scale to the streets of Liverpool. They wanted to depict the fun of the game and its exciting nature to the whole country as well as Merseyside. Devised by Ad agency M & C Saatchi, the Ladbrokes Bingo advertisement will air on television screens around mid to late September.

With all the news we have been getting regarding ASA attention for online bingo sites in recent times, let us hope that this huge production manages to escape their scrutiny for long enough for us to have a good look at it. It seems that this huge production is going to be something well worth waiting for and seeing.
