Bingo winners are some of the most caring and sharing of all winners. It is not often you hear of someone who won the lottery sharing their money, but we hear all the time about winning bingo players sharing with their mums, grans, friends and siblings. This fifty nine year old winner is no different and she is going to be sharing her ₤70 000 winnings with her sister-in-law.
Carol White, who is “still in a bit of a tizz” after her huge win on the National Bingo game, is a great-grandmother who hails from Longtown. She works as a packing supervisor in a factory and couldn’t sleep the entire night after her big win. She says that she actually felt physically ill after she realized just how much money she had won. I think that I might also feel sick!
The lucky winner was playing bingo at the Rex Bingo Club in Carlisle at the time of her huge win, scooping £67,080, for the National prize, plus the Regional prize of £3,200 and of course the house prize of £112. She has been a member of the club for five years and her last win was a not too shabby ₤1 200, two years ago. What really amazed me was the number of calls she got her full house in, she filled her card in thirty six numbers! This is a really low call!
Carol plays bingo with her sister-in-law once a week and she intends to treat her children with her share of the money, she has three children, eight grand-children and three great-grandchildren, so that is quite a few treats she is going to be dishing out. She is also going to take an extra holiday abroad this year with her husband and they are thinking of going to visit China.
