Nowadays people are becoming more and more cautious about our environment. People have come up with various ways on how to be eco-friendly in our everyday living. Thus the term “green” no longer just refers to the color but also refers to being “eco-friendly” too. Now bingo goes green. Thanks to Gala Bingo!
Gala Bingo, a bingo operator in the UK, has recently launched an energy-saving light bulb campaign. Their giant light bulb arrived in Yorkshire just last November 2008. Of course, the deputy mayor of Doncaster, Stuart Exelby was all out support for this “Green” campaign.
Gala Bingo’s campaign is an environmentally-friendly initiative. They are lighting up millions of eco-friendly light bulbs, shaped in a giant light bulb and then dished out to the bingo players. The giant light bulb, measuring 16 feet, will tour around the whole of UK. Of course, the Deputy Mayor Stuart Exelby was there when it arrived in Yorkshire in the area of Wheatley. After that, it has continued to the other cities of the country.
While in the area of Yorkshire, Deputy Mayor Exelby has shown great support and was proud to have Gala Bingo’s giant light bulb visit the city. In an interview with the Doncaster Star, he mentioned how these eco-friendly light bulbs help save our Mother Earth. In fact, even the use of environmentally friendly tools in such light fittings will go a long way in helping our environment. He also mentioned that the people of their borough in Doncaster are working really hard to save the environment and researching on what it takes to produce power without using much resource. Doncaster is known for their mining industry.
Of course, Gala Bingo is happy to run the campaign in Doncaster among other areas of the UK. Gala Bingo is also joined by Southern Electric and Sue Ryder Care in this big campaign. This charity campaign from Gala Bingo seeks to raise about £1 million.
